Description of the research topic:

The investigation of hyperspectral and 3D remotely sensed information in spatial processes is a new branch of GIScience, because of the new data sources and measurement technologies. Field spectrometer, laboratory hyperspectral imaging sensors, UAV and satellite images can be used for data collection and image processing, spatial analysis (using open source and commercial GIS softwares), time series analysis, and machine learning methods are also used in this field. 3D data can be derived from stereo aerial images, laboratory laser scanning and UAV-Lidar applications. 3D imaging laser scanner data can be used in any application, like environmental monitoring, precise farming, terrain analysis, GIS and BIM integration, etc. Ground truth reference data collection, data-
fusion, spatial modelling and simulation, enhanced image processing methods, and field validation are also parts of the research activity.
