Description of the research topic:

The PhD thesis will be carried out by simulating a complete breeding programme. This will generate phenotypic and breeding values of the defined traits. Based on these values selection can be performed and the next generation can be established. The main objective of the research topic is how genetic diversity can be maintained during selection in a breeding programme. The AlphaSim R software package will be used to accomplish the research topic.
