Description of the research topic:

While non-traditional female gender roles are more and more accepted in society, more research is needed concerning how they are formed (family dynamics, parental attitudes, early attachments), in what context (the effect of gender role models in and outside the family, school and media, and other social attitudes), and how they relate to gender identity (strong or weak gender identification, traditional or non-traditional career aspirations, and social activism).
