Description of the research topic:
The theme provides framework for examining such artistic and institutional approaches which challenge the boundaries of the concept of art. On the one hand, because these practices take an interdisciplinary stance and produce works or exhibitions which traverse through traditional frameworks, combining the divergent theoretical knowledge and practice in a creative, experimental way. These practices consider knowledge production independent of its framework as a new “extraterritorial territory”, or as a process of experimenting rather than a rigid method. On the other hand, because the work of the actors of the art scene, those active participants in artistic production is more and more characterized by collaboration, therefore it is interpreted as the liquidation of authorship, or along the questions of multiple authorship.
Possible topics of the DLA research are:
Institutional critique, from practical and theoretical approaches
Proactive, litoral, discursive-performative practices and their critical approaches in both curatorial and artistic practice
Socially and politically engaged art practices
Sustainability and eco-criticism in art
Art and education in the context of experimental, knowledge production, the „educational turn” and the possibilities of a transdisciplinary approach.
