Description of the research topic:

Angolul:
As digital natives, generation Z and Alpha coming to universities recent years grew up on visual culture. Their methods to receive and process information are widely different from that of their seniors from generations X and sometimes even Y, who get their information by reading or hearing. Keeping this in mind, it is of great importance that we get new methodological and didactical knowledge on subjects with traditionally a lot of lexical learning. Teaching these subjects, we have to use more and more modern digital equipment, means of communication, apps etc.
Our project scans how veterinary universities in Europe transform their educational systems, at some places also introducing a modular system. We research how in these systems the role and teaching of botany and botanical subjects change, such as veterinary botany, poisonous garden and indoor plants, medicinal plants, secondary metabolites of plants. Our methodological-technical research focuses on ways on how the e-learning methods developed during quarantine can be applied in face-to-face education to process materials, to give tasks, for evaluation, and to collect assessments form students, with the purpose of making the procedure of teaching more of an eye-opener experience with motivating effect. Some methods and techniques we test on lectures on medicinal plants and practical lessons on veterinary botany, and based on this, we search for possibilities to transfer our results evaluating the feedback of students, to other fundamental subjects such as chemistry, anatomy and special subjects such as pharmacology, pathology or even clinical subjects.
