Description of the research topic:

The research program aims to explore the opportunities of developing machine learning applications for spatio-temporal data. Geographical data is a growing domain where artificial intelligence can be applied for various business and societal problems. The research will initially focus on applying supervised machine learning algorithms on the MODIS data sets (https://modis.gsfc.nasa.gov/data/dataprod/), potentially extending it network science methods as a compliment and to other application fields and other data sets.
