Description of the research topic:

Recent neuroscientific studies have shown that slowly varying timecourse fluctuations are temporally correlated between functionally related brain areas during cognitive tasks and even at rest. These correlated brain areas form functional networks, that might be altered in various neurological and psychiatric conditions. Morover, functional connectivity is important as an indicator of normal neuronal activity as well. Thus, the main aim of the project is to investigate brain-behavior relationships with fMRI by characterizing functional connectivity patterns in healthy and patient groups using task-free (e.g. resting-state fMRI) and task-based (e.g. Stroop task, PVT, verbal fluency task) methods.
