Description of the research topic:

In advanced Parkinson’s disease not only the main motor problems (bradykinesia, ON-OFF fluctuations, dyskinesia and dystonia) can limit the health-related quality of life of the patients, but also the postural instability and gait problems. Similarly, in stroke patients gat and postural problems may be the leading cause of disability despite of even mild paresis. The aim of this research program is to examine the efficacy of complex rehabilitation techniques including traditional rehabilitation, neuropsychological support and repetitive transcranial stimulation in improving the health-related quality of life. Furthermore, we also aim to develop more efficient and clinically useful approaches for the treatment of patients with various neurological disorders.
