Description of the research topic:
Water treatment: adsorption and dispersion stabilization/destabilization in composite aqueous systems. Natural (humic substances of thermal and well waters, oil and colloidal particles of produced waters) and artificial (organic micropollutants, microplastics) pollutants. Identification and modeling of interfacial and aqueous phase equilibria. Adsorption, coagulation and flocculation water treatment processes. Combination of adsorption and colloid destabilization processes with high efficiency separation processes. Special application of magnetic nanoparticles and extremely high specific surface area lamellar, montmorillonite or graphene oxide based nanocomposites, development of magnetic separation.
Antecedents of the research topic:
Nearly 40 years of educational practice and research experience in the field of colloid chemistry, especially interfacial equilibria and colloidal state changes in composite aqueous systems; articles published in about 100 international professional journals, independent citation> 5000 and Hirsch index> 40.
