Description of the research topic:

3D metal printing is becoming increasingly popular. And this is not surprising: each metallic printing material offers a unique combination of practical and aesthetic properties in order to meet the requirements of different products, whether it is prototypes, miniatures, jewellery, functional parts or even kitchen utensils. Nitridation is a common technology for wear resistance, corrosion resistance and sliding properties increasing surface treatment. Metal 3D printing is a unique modern technology that is suitable for special component manufacturing for medical and military applications. The requirement of these components is the high strengths, toughness and wear resistance besides the low weight and high biocompatibility. The goal of the research is to find the optimal technological parameters to obtain the best mechanical and structural properties in the case of the 3D printed samples between the printing parameters and the capability of the nitridation based on the laws of material science.
