Description of the research topic:

The climate change mitigation and adaptation became a primary challenge for our civilization. Looking at the technologies currently under development, industry experience shows that oxygen-fuel combustion may be one of the most promising method due to significant reductions in NOx emissions, but also CO, HxCy and particulate matter. One of the benefits of oxy-fuel combustion is the ability to directly capture CO2, which is used as a by-product in circular economy strategies such as the production of synthetic fuels and e-fuels. However, capturing CO2 from the primary source is the most crucial step because it represents significant part of the total operating costs. The PhD research aims to investigate and develop capturing techniques for CO2 in the case of oxy-fuel combustion.
