Description of the research topic:

The results of the last decades prove definitely that the more efficient glucose lowering results more successful prevention of complications in type 2 diabetes. However, the intensive treatment leads to weight gain or increased hypoglycemia risk in many cases. Most of the diabetic patients are old and suffer from multimorbidity as well as overdosed with antidiabetic treatment and demand desintensification of the therapy. The aim of our studies are to apply less complex, simple treatment options and therapies consisting of new innovative drugs. We wish to characterize and follow the efficacy and safety of these new therapeutical options with several parameters.
