Description of the research topic:

In business, economic and engineering application of mathematical optimization sometimes we need to optimize more than one objective function at the same time. In this type of problems, called either vector optimization problems (VOP) (or multi-objective programming problems (MOP)), we need to find solutions, where one of the objectives can not be improved without worsen the other. These solutions are called Pareto-optimal solutions, and since 1950’s such methods are known that compute one of the Pareto-optimal solutions.
In the area of constrained VOP, the question of duality arises naturally, because leads to some description of optimality and might help to introduce primal-dual type of algorithms for solving the constrained VOPs.
Our goal is to apply vector optimization techniques to solve practical problems arising in business, economics, or engineering by developing both primal and dual problems for the given practical problems and to introduce, implement and test efficient solution algorithms.
