Description of the research topic:
In cities, undisturbed soil types with natural genetics characteristic of the area remain only on small surfaces. This can be found in home gardens, parks, cemeteries, and sports fields. The rest of the settlements are called occupied by anthropogenic soils. Soils in urban, industrial environments have different functions compared to natural soils, as their soil-forming processes are already characterized by intense human influences. For this reason, these soils have a number of special properties (e.g. higher pH, higher lime content, high artifact content, heavy contamination, irregular organic matter runoff, high compaction). As the population and area of cities continue to grow, their soil contamination and its risks to human health are important research issues.
