Description of the research topic:
The planned research highlights the selection and pre-processing procedures of data concerning the identification and mapping Nature 2000 plant species and habitats in Kosovo. Even though this country is very rich in terms of nature values and biodiversity, we currently do not have information on Kosovo's Natura 2000 species and habitats, so the planned research would fills a gap. Kosovo’s natural values attract many researchers, so sporadic data on many plant species (including rare, endemic, relics taxa) and habitats are available. These natural values and the detailed knowledge of their exact locations are very important for both nature conservation and sustainable development and as such require special care of them.
