Description of the research topic:

Bioanalytics is the area of the separation science dealing with the analysis of biological samples, which means not only the analytical measurement, but also the design of the analytical method needed to answer the biological questions, sampling from the biological matrix, preparation of the samples for the measurements, analytical method development as well as data evaluation and data interpretation as well. Most of the metabolites examined during the analysis of biological samples are naturally occurring substances, ie. endogenous, which are members in the biochemical processes. Mechanical damage or selective chemical damage via various perineural chemical treatments of the peripheral nerves causes the altered local levels of endogenous metabolites in nerve tissue, which are detectable by bioanalytical methods. This allows us to track the time course of nerve regeneration at the level of metabolites. Within the study, the applied experimental method allows to know the peripheral processes influencing neuroregeneration at the level of metabolites.
