Description of the research topic:
Differences in the oral health status of the population show similar patterns of inequalities to the ones found in the general health status, morbidity and mortality rates of the population. The condition of the oral cavity and teeth is presumably worse in the lower socioeconomic groups. The essence of the oral attitude: a lasting attitude towards oral health and pathology. Affective, cognitive and behavioral areas, behavior in opinion and practical behavior, personal interaction in practice are the main domains which may be measured/assessed. As a part of this research topic, several surveys may be carried out among the population of Hungary: daily routine oral hygiene and the practice of dental consultations. The practice of belief-based oral attitudes and preventive health behaviors. In addition, career socialization of dentists is also an important and relevant field: motivations for choosing a career, relationships with colleagues and patients, burnout in the dental society, the social status of dentists and communication with patients.
