Abbreviation of location of studies: EGR

Description of the research topic:

a.) Antecedents:
In the case of heat engines by the climate and energy policy requirements are the carbon-free and low-emission power generation in the future. A potential solution could be variety of renewable fuels utilization in engines. The fuel blends and dual fuels well researched and described, however, in certain (mainly) renewable fuels testing and modelling of the combustion process in this field many questions unresolved.
b.) Aim of research: Testing and modelling of combustion processes in compression ignition (diesel) engines of different fuels, mixing systems blends and additives. The primary target is to determinate the correlations with support of modelling
c.) Tasks, main items, necessary time: Literature review and critical analysis of it (0.5 years). Modernization of the measurement system and measurements and (1,5 year). Model development and the validation of the model (1.5 years). Evaluation the measurements, analysis and exploring of relationships (0.5 years). The preparation of the Dissertation (1 year).
d.) Required equipment: test facility, computer, access to literature and databases, mathematical/simulation software
e.) Expected scientific results: Determination of the characteristics, main parameters and context exploration of the working process of the renewable fuels utilisation in internal combustion engines
