Description of the research topic:

The key actors of the economy are the enterprises, among which a system of relationships of varying character, direction, and intensity establish networks. The market position, dependencies and profitability of a particular enterprise are determined either by the vertical relationships between the actors of the networks, which cover the entire supply chain or by the horizontal relations between the competitors, which often form cooperation or alliance. The flow of data and information associated with a relationship system involves risks, the security of which can determine a company's competitive position. Information risks continue to increase in an international environment. Among the main reasons can include the different national regulatory systems, cultural differences and different types of equivalence problems.

Research purposes: The aim of the candidate's research is to explore the risk factors affecting the networks in a multidisciplinary approach and to develop a model for the security of data and information flow. As part of this, the candidate explores and analyses existing models and develops improved and novel models. As a result of the research, the candidate makes a proposal to identify and reduce the risk that determines the connection system of the networks, which can contribute to the improvement of the profitability of enterprises.
