Description of the research topic:

Starting from Plotinus, Neoplatonic philosophers offered various possibilities concerning the structure of the soul and the relation between the different kinds of cognition such as knowledge, belief and sensory experience. Two issues may deserve particular attention; the extent to which rationality pervades the whole human soul and the role of sensory perception and the way of its acquisition.
