Description of the research topic:

Interdisciplinary investigation and analysis of a selection of the most heavily discussed issues concerning the self and self-awareness, such as the ontological status of the self; the psychological and neuroscientific status of the self; different selves; permanence and narrativity of the self; the self and others; subjectivity and intersubjectivity; subjective versus objective consciousness; same-order and higher-order theories (HOT) of self-awareness; the phenomenology of self-awareness; psychopathologies and disorders of the self and self-awareness (e.g. schizophrenia, brain lesions, autism).
