Description of the research topic:

The proposed topic belongs to the safety science domain. The scope of the research is the prevention of human injuries and diseases in the workplace setting on the organisational or international level.

Research purposes:
The research aims to explore occupational safety and ergonomic knowledge and to develop procedures and technologies that contribute to the improvement of occupational health, safety, and well-being.
Goals of the research (optional)
• performance measurement and economic impact assessment of occupational safety and health,
• elements of safety culture, e.g. organisational processes, leadership, communication and cooperation,
• options for preventing new hazards, e.g. platform work,
• the impact of digitalisation on workers' health and safety,
• to adapt the accomplishments of other safety science domains for occupational safety,
• the use of artificial intelligence and other new technologies for occupational safety.

In the course of the research, the applicant should carry out a systematic literature review, evaluate a country situation by quantitative and qualitative methods, formulate hypotheses and carry out the corresponding study, finally present results in journals and conferences.
The doctoral training aims to develop a high level of occupational safety management skills, which is provided during the training program by completing the designated ETCSs and research tasks, and higher education teaching practice and international project participation.

Further requirements: 
Degree in occupational safety and health, which can be obtained in parallel with doctoral training.
