Description of the research topic:

According to a basic theory of sociology, conflict belongs to life so it belongs to business life as well. Practically conflict is a way of life in relationships that can be explicitly and implicitly expressed. In a business relationship – and generally in a supply chain as well – organizational goals are completely convergent. Different views that can evolve in unexpected situations during a relationship can lead to disputes that can turn into misunderstanding or conflict. According to several authors, cooperation is the counterpoint to conflict. However, there are several and various conflicts between business partners emerging due to constant political, legal, economic and social changes.
Research purposes:
Some researchers found that the extent of the perceived conflicts plays a significant role in the evaluation of the business relationship. The so-called latent conflict maybe recognized in every business relationship, and it is a silent or invisible element that either remains latent or perceives the affected partners. These aspects may cause security problems or even termination of business relationships. Therefore, we suggest some points for consideration and future surveys: How practitioners handle their problematic business partners? What kinds of conflict management tools or other techniques seem to be successful both from dyadic relationships and from network aspects? When, under which conditions do they terminate any of their most cumbersome, problematic business ties? Does the concept of Business Relationship Process Management (BRPM) can handle conflictual and other negative elements of business relationships? Shortly, what is dark about the dark side of business relationships?
