Description of the research topic:

Risk management is becoming more and more the focus of research, as the economic crisis of recent years, the emergence of new and identifiable risk factors in the field of environmental and climatic extremes or medical diagnostics call for more effective risk assessment system models. The large number of system parameters and the complexity of their relationships result in a complexity of the model that needs to be handled appropriately. Risk factors can be both qualitative and quantitative, consequently a tool that can handle both types of inputs is required in the evaluation. To handle the uncertainty often encountered in risk management systems, as well as the subjectivity inherent in determining factors and evaluating, there is a need to develop soft calculation methods in these types of systems.
The scope of the topic is extremely diverse. Among the others, it is suitable for the implementation of cyber security, engineering and health care predictive models. The area to be researched is specified in consultation with the applicant.

Research objectives:
• applicability of soft calculation methods in the field of risk management
• further development of existing methods and algorithms, development of new solutions
• validation, comparison to other solutions
