Description of the research topic:

Borders are everywhere. In the end of the 20th century scholars and
policymakers were expecting the borderless world to come. It just hasn't
arrived so far. In fact since 9/11 the world is again heading toward a
more bordered world, characterized more by the construction of new walls
instead of the deconstruction of them. Research themes are welcome which
focus on bordering, debodering, rebordering and any kind of border related
issues from cooperation to alienation. Geographical scale can vary from
global to local, comparative analysis and case studies can all be
interesting.
