Description of the research topic:
The geopolitics of SEE has always been of great importance not only for
local and regional powers but usually in global context as well. It is the
same in recent years as well, nation and state building, ethnic tensions,
failed states, transit routes of important flows (e.g. energy,
migrants...), frozen conflicts, great power influences... are all
characteristic to the region at the beginning of the 21st century. Topics
connected to this wide theme are welcome, focusing either on single
states, regions, nations or on horizontal topics like energy, migration or
state building.
