Description of the research topic:

Cultural studies approaches in the study of topics related to Eastern European feature film and documentary cinema with special attention to the social construction of gender and sexual identity, identity strategies (hiding, passing, coming out, return, retreat,), memory politics (trauma, nostalgia, retro), spatiality (urban, rural, domestic, workplace, private sphere, public sphere) and the representation of socially marginalized (ethnic, sexual, subcultural) groups. Comparative analyses are preferred.
