Description of the research topic:

The cross-linguistic study of various types of metonymy and investigating the possible strategies to their translation based on parallel corpora. The theoretical focus of the research program is directed at the relationship between linguistic and conceptual metonymy, at the language- and culture-specific features of different types of metonymy and at translation as a metonymic process.
