Description of the research topic:

Individual cells can give diverse responses to inputs received from the environment. A complex molecular regulatory network controls the signal processing and response reactions of the cell. Such networks with feed-forward and feedback loops can show interesting dynamical behaviours, what we can investigate only computationally. We will investigate by mathematical modelling various biological regulatory networks. Model analysis will help us to gain a better understanding of the biological system and the models will also support us in designing further experiments for better understanding. We will investigate by mathematical and computational modelling the regulatory networks controlling cell division, cell growth, circadian rhythm and cell-cell interactions and how these systems are connected to each other.
