Description of the research topic:

Syllabus
The production of different orthopedical products from biocompatible material (e.g. titanium) by Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology has enermous potential. Cellular structures can also be produced thanks to metal printing, therefore it is possible to design implants with similar strength as human bone. The purpose of the research is to design patient specific cellular implants optimized for weight and strength taking the medical requirements and manufacturing limits into consideration. During the research the application of different structural optimization processes and those integration into finite element software environment are investigated.
