Syllabus
Cellular materials are lightweight structures with relative high strength. Therefore, the interest in these materials is widespread and used in the automotive, aerospace and medical industry. During the research geometrical reconstruction of different metal foam structures based on CT images and detailed analysis of the reconstructed model are planned. The purpose of the research is to develop a modelling procedure which is suitable for the accurate numerical analysis of metal foam structures. To achieve this aim shape recognition algorithm development and programming of CAD and finite element software are necessary.
