Description of the research topic:
In case of active substances with poor water solubility, the solubility and dissolution rate determine bioavailability. Complex formation with cyclodextrin derivatives can increase the solubility and / or the dissolution rate of the drug. In the case of pharmaceutical products for ophthalmic use, it is also important to increase the duration of action. Thermoanalytical, spectroscopic and X-ray diffractometric analytical techniques can be used to study interactions and stability between components. Test methods for ophthalmic formulations depend on the physicochemical composition of the formulation used (in vitro, ex vivo in vivo tests).
