Description of the research topic:
Infectious diseases are one of the most important acute illnesses encountered in ambulatory care with corresponding high antimicrobial use. Rational use of antimicrobials is important to combat antibacterial resistance. Monitoring the use of antimicrobials and resistance patterns with different tools are important prerequisites to set up evidence based interventions. With the help of drug utilization tools the effectiveness of interventions can be also evaluated.
