Description of the research topic:

The sustainable development of cities is threatened by various socio-economic and environmental challenges. This project includes the investigation of the widening division of cities according to class and race, the phenomenon of residential segregation, processes of daily commuting and other forms of mobility as well as the perception of the built and natural environment by residents, the social effects of global climate change in urban areas and the increasing vulnerability of human habitat.
