Description of the research topic:

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a life threatening inflammatory disease of the exocrine pancreas which needs acute hospitalization. Despite its importance we have significant lack of knowledge concerning the life style factors elevate or decrease the risk of AP or influence the disease outcome.
The main goal of this study is to determine negative or positive association between socio-economic factors, dietary habits, physical activity, chronic stress, sleep quality and acute pancreatitis.
We hope to find both negative and positive associations which will allow for the first time to suggest lifestyle modifications for patients discharged from the hospitals after AP or for those who wish to reduce their risk for AP.
