Description of the research topic:

Historic wooden buildings or wooden structures of historic monuments require special treatment due to their particulary sensitive and vulnerable material. In addition to special diagnostic tasks, the study of the protection of these monuments is particularly suitable for examining the practical implementation of the theoretical issues of monument protection. Historical and cultural differences are more tangible here than in other structured monuments, so the solutions also move on a wide scale. Due to the vulnerability, and due to the rich historical stratification, that is enrich with the layers of restoration, the practical implementation of the theoretical background of conservation, restoration and reconstruction can also be well examined. The issue of the protection of material and related intellectual content is always the most difficult question to grasp in the recommendations of international charters. The topic is always made relevant by how the two major “pitfalls” of international recommendations - the destruction of armed conflicts and the economic and sustainability issues and needs of new technologies on heritage and values - are constantly shaping the theory of monument protection.
