Description of the research topic:
We examine the effects of various nanoparticles on cancerous and on other cells in the tumor microenvironment (macrophages, fibroblasts, etc.). We study how the communication between tumor cells and stromal cells in this particular environment changes under the influence of nanoparticles. Our aim is to determine how the tumor-supporting functions of non-cancerous cells are modulated by nanoparticle treatments and how it affects the development of tumor-supporting stromal phenotypes.
