Description of the research topic:

Significant amounts of lignocellulose-based waste / by-products are generated from forestry and agriculture. These include fallen foliage, tree bark, various plant stems (e.g. straw). These wastes, respectively a significant proportion of by-products are used for energy purposes. At the same time, by increasing their resistance to water, they could be used in larger proportions than at present. The aim of the research is the laboratory development of procedures, resp. adaptation of existing processes to the tested lignocelluloses, which significantly reduce the water absorption capacity, thus increasing the biological durability (against fungi, insects) and improving the insulating ability.
