Description of the research topic:
Nowadays the control of the autonomous vehicles defines new challenges for the informatics science; instead of the classical algorithms, new software technologies shall be applied in accordance to special requirements. The candidate shall investigate and develop algorithms that fuse data pieces representing the same physical phenomenon where these data pieces are originated to different sources, interpreted differently and determined by different probability and quality. The aim is the maximisation of the quality and the reliability of the physical properties at the output in order to fulfil the high level safety requirements of autonomous vehicle control. Besides the requirements of the data quality, the research shall target the optimisation of the resource need, the application dependent adaptation capability and the reliability verification complexity in the design of the algorithm.
