Description of the research topic:

The complex and sustainable utilization of groundwater resources addresses many new challenges for the hydrogeologists. The prospecting and utilization of drinking, mineral, medicinal and thermal water resources need solid field measuring and groundwater modeling support to realize groundwater management scenarios and practical measures.

The research topic would focus on the elaboration of new hydrogeological methods and concepts in groundwater modeling, which can help groundwater related problems in certain or transboundary regions. Field measuring methods, and flow, transport and heat transport approaches would be improved with the involvement of the latest new research results of groundwater science. The new methods in the determination of groundwater recharge, in groundwater chemistry and in groundwater data processing can be involved to increase the reliability and accuracy of groundwater modeling activity and to achieve sustainable utilization.
