Description of the research topic:
The cognitive turn in the scholarly study of religion in the last two decades have hardly made an impact upon the scholarly study of Judaism. Still, the application of contemporary cognitive theories and approaches might profit both Judaic studies and the cognitive science of religion. It can turn out that certain approaches, such as the ritual model of Lawson and McCauley, requires being refined, while a new narrative of the history of Judaism would emerge.
