Description of the research topic:

The central concept of Cultural Linguistics is cultural conceptualizations, i.e., conceptual packages that represent the beliefs and ideas of a cultural community about life, the universe, religion, the environment, emotions, etc. Cultural conceptualizations include cultural metaphors, cultural schemas and cultural categories. A) Cultural metaphors can be identified as conceptual metaphors anchored in a community’s cultural cognition. B) Cultural schemes are beliefs and expectations which are related to human behaviour, such as event schemas (CHRISTMAS, WEDDING), emotion schemas (PRIDE, ANGER), role schemas (e.g., behavioural patterns of gender schemas). C) Cultural categories are conceptual categories that represent the worldview of a community. The goal of the research is to identify various types of cultural conceptualizations in language.
