Description of the research topic:
Generative morphology accounts for the structure of morphologically complex words with the toolbox of generative syntax. Its basic tenet is that multi-morphemic words are assembled in the only generative component of grammar, namely narrow syntax (non-lexicalist theory, „syntax all the way down”. In this approach two frameworks compete with each other: Distributed Morphology and Nanosyntax. The doctoral student’s reserarch can be conducted in either framework or it can focus on the comparison of the two frameworks.
