Description of the research topic:

In modern industrial manufacturing processes the reliability of maintenance has an increasing role. This is especially important in case the Industry 4.0 shall be introduced at the manufacturing unit. The modern decision support methods use so called hard or soft mathematical tools, and expert systems (software).
Within the framework of the doctoral process we are intending to develop methods, the goals of which are modern risk assessment procedures. Also, these methods shall be planned to check the capability of the manufacturing unit whether it is prepared to introduce the Industry 4.0 or not.
Sub areas of the project can be selected from the topics listed below:
1. analysis of the risk assessment and reliability problems, occurring during the maintenance of the manufacturing units
2. elaboration of stochastic, multidimensional modelling of the maintenance processes
3. development of analysis methods having the goal to determine whether the maintenance department of the manufacturing unit is well prepared to introduce the Industry 4.0
4. development of decision preparation procedures based on fuzzy set theories
