Description of the research topic:

Terminology is not only a collection of terms but also a strategic tool to mediate between languages and conceptual systems, making several aspects worth discussing at the intersection of a number of disciplines (translation studies, linguistics, language pedagogy): the interconnection of languages and conceptual systems and its implication on the notion of translation, equivalence and terms, the role of terminology in transmitting subject knowledge in ESP teaching, terminology competence of trainees in translator training.
