Description of the research topic:

Lexical problems loom large in translation. The characteristic features of translation (translation universals), to a considerable extent, are tied to differences int he distribution of lexical patterning. Within the framework of this topic issues of terminology, culture speci8fic items and collocations may be handled. Relevance theory may provide the theoretical underpinnings.
