Description of the research topic:

Semiconductors like ZnTe, GaP and GaAs are interesting materials for generating THz pulses by optical rectification in infrared wavelengths. However, little is no about their optical parameters (nonlinear refractive index, absorption) in the low- and middle infrared wavlengths, and their wavelength dependecies. Beside the investigation of these parameters, more information can be yield by the recent Nonlinear THz spectroscopy.
