Description of the research topic:

Knowledge-based economy of the 21st century requires high levels of labour market competences of students graduating from the various levels of the education system. Hungarian research shows that the relationship between the education system and the labour market is not close enough. The relationship is characterized by unequal opportunities for the individuals, stemming from social and territorial differences, resulting skills shortage on the labour market. In Hungary employment policy uses only short term (one year) forecasts.

The doctoral research will provide a long term forecast, meeting the needs of the labour market and the (higher) education system as well. The forecast will consist relevant information on the prospects of selected professions, dominantly in the fields of engineering, natural sciences and information technology. Methods: trend analysis, needs analysis, quantitative and qualitative research in competence development and LLG.
