Description of the research topic:

An important, but often neglected, aspect of building structural design is the control of the vapour technical behaviour of structures. When layered building boundary structures are energy-calculated, usually the vapour behaviour is also checked, but in many cases the correct calculation is hampered by the lack of sorption properties of building materials. Sorption isotherm data for individual materials and products can be measured by laboratory experiments. For the experiments, the conditions can be established in the department's laboratory. The experimental results are to be compared with those of the international literature. Data series can be used to create a database that can be used in industrial collaboration. Additional conclusions can be drawn from the sorption behaviour of materials with similar characteristics, which can also be useful input information for the development of building materials.
