Description of the research topic:
Tent structures are very attractive structures, however their design
requires special knowledge, as they are prestressed and geometrically
non-linear or in other words they can exhibit large displacements.
These two properties have a great impact on the connections and
details, which is the focus of this research. The aim of the research is to
modell parametrically the connections, to simulate them and finally
optimize them.
